My name’s Toby Edwards. I’m a new student at Green Street School in Bristol. I came to this school last year. Before I came to this school, I went to a school called Harrow, in London. In the UK, there are a lot of different schools. You pay money to go to Harrow School. The boys sleep at the school. Girls don’t go to Harrow School. Green Street School is a free school. We don’t have to pay any money and we go home at the end of the day. At Green Street School we have got a uniform. We wear black trousers, a white shirt and a green sweatshirt. It’s OK. But at Harrow School the uniform was horrible! It was a white shirt, grey trousers, a blue jumper, a blue jacket and a hat! And at Harrow, we wore the uniform and the hat all day - in lessons, lunchtime and after school! At Harrow classes started at 3.00 in the morning, but at Green Street they start at 9.15. The subjects are the same, but at Harrow we did Latin and Greek - they were very boring. At Harrow we did homework from five o’clock to seven o’clock every evening, but now I do my homework at four o’clock and then play computer games. Green Street School is my favourite school because I can go home every day! At Harrow I stayed at the school for two months -I only went home in the holidays.

One Laptop Per Child It looks more like a toy than a computer, but it really is a laptop - and it's a very good one, too. Today there are two billion children in the developing world and many will never go to school and one third of them will not finish year 5. They won't find good jobs and they will live in poverty. OLPC is working hard to bring computers to these children so that their education and futures will be better. How will the XO laptop help?
